The Swahili House - Stone Town - Zanzibar

Located in the bustling heart of Stonetown The Swahili House was originally used as an Indian Merchant House in the 19th century and was later to became home to one of the many Sultan families.

Recent restoration has made The Swahili House a distinctive hotel with traditional influences, combining modern facilities with authentic Swahili hospitality.

A traditional ZSwahili_House_Stone_Town_Zanzibaranzibar courtyard is the centre piece of the hotel. Each of the five floors are reachable via a traditional Zanzibari staircases leading from the courtyard (for the less able there is an elevator). The rooftop terrace is where you will find the bar, restaurant and a very relaxing Jacuzzi overlooking the Indian Ocean

Three categories of guest rooms are avaiailable. All are restored and decorated in traditional Swahili style, but adjusted to Western standards. Most rooms feature an open walk-in bathroom with shower and bath,

The Swahili House is an excellent base for discovering the historic streets of Stone Town or explore the many treasures within the island of Zanzibar.
