Luxury Tanzania safari - 8 days / 7 nights:
Accommodation: Arrival night hotel, bed & breakfast; 6 nights luxury tented camps, full-board.
Day 1: Arrive into Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to your hotel (dinner can be arranged).
Day 2: Your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel location after breakfast to begin the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Taking a picnic lunch, enter the wildlife park and enjoy an afternoon game driving. Lake Manyara is an ancient soda lake and a stop off for flocks of flamingo. You can also anticipate seeing tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at the Tented Camp within the park (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Day 3 to Day 6: Begin the journey to Serengeti by crossing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey offers many opportunities for wildlife viewing and possible sightings of the 'big five'. Arrive at the Tented Camp early evening for dinner and overnight (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Taking a picnic lunch, enjoy more days exploring the Serengeti. The days drive will depend on the location and activities of the wildlife. Visit different locations or return to a special place. During the migration season, the safari will be aimed towards seeing as much as possible of the spectacular migration activity. Return each night to the Tented Camp for dinner and overnight (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
While staying within the Serengeti, you have the opportunity to experience an early morning balloon flight.
The balloon rises with the sun and floats with the wind. Flying above the tree tops offers a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. Ascending to 1000m or more presents a wonderful panorama of the Serengeti. The flight takes about one hour. On landing, a 'champagne' full English bush breakfast awaits you and a Serengeti Balloon certificate will be awarded.
Balloon safaris are priced separately.
Day 7: Expect an early wake-up call to start your safari day at dawn during the coolest part of the day. This is a time of much activity in the bush. Return to the Tented Camp for breakfast. After breakfast, leave the Serengeti and return through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying wildlife viewing en-route. The journey ends at the Tented Camp near to the rim of Ngorongoro crater. Relax before dinner (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Day 8: After breakfast descend the steep sided track to the floor of Ngorongoro Crater, passing Maasai cattle herders who share the crater ecosystem. Your morning game drive exploring the vast caldera will present many opportunities for watching the activities of the wildlife. After enjoying a picnic lunch, leave the crater to return east to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Enjoy a pre-flight dinner before joining your evening international flight (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Additional hotel nights and airport transfers are extra.
