Visit Marangu at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro - 2 days
Set among steep sloping bananas and coffee plantations, this small town is the gateway for Kilimanjaro climbers and home to the Chagga people.
You will be picked up from your hotel location in the morning for your journey to Marangu. You will stay overnight in the Babylon Hotel.
Your two days in Marangu will be spent exploring interesting and historic places and greeting friendly villagers in the company of a local guide.
Included in your tour are visits to Ndoro and Monjo waterfalls (you can take a swim in the cool waters at Monjo), a traditional Chagga house, 'hiding' caves (where the local Chagga tribe hid from enforced labour), a traditional blacksmith (they accept commissions), Ngangu (look-out) hill and Kilimanjaro National Park gate.
