Fumba Beach Lodge - Zanzibar (south west coast)
Fumba Beach Lodge is the ultimate hideaway for guests who want relaxation. Guest rooms are scattered within 40 acres of baobab and palm wilderness with three naturally sheltered beaches providing a cool sea breeze.
Conveniently located 30 minutes southwest of Zanzibar’s historic capital, Stone Town, but well hidden from the busy tourist areas, Fumba Beach Lodge is the perfect venue for enjoying the peace and tranquility of this tropical island paradise.
Each spacious room has an en-suite bathroom, private terrace and a stunning ocean view. All rooms are suitable for families, couples or individuals.
A comfortable open-air restaurant serves the freshest seafood and expertly prepared international or traditional cuisine.
The unique beach bar, constructed from an authentic Zanzibari dhow, is situated under an enormous baobab on a seaside cliff - a magnificent idyllic setting to watch the sun go down.
Fumba Beach Lodge offers guests the ultimate in relaxing massage. The Baobab Massage Centrex has been built around a majestic African Baobab tree boasting a six meter high platform with a Jacuzzi in the tree itself overlooking the gardens and the Indian Ocean in the distance.
Menai Bay Conservation Area
Menai Bay has been dedicated as a conservation area since 1998 due to its outstanding natural beauty. Established by the World Wildlife Federation (WWF), Menai Bay Conservation Area was designed to give Zanzibaris in the Fumba area a vested interest in their environment so they will protect it. The project is aimed at teaching villagers how to conserve their natural heritage, and how to profitably exploit it in a sustainable manner. Eco-tourism plays an important role in that profitability and Fumba Beach Lodge is the first and only lodge offering accommodation on the pristine Fumba Peninsula.
